My passions
Traveling.
As a military child, I began traveling around at an early age. My father, a retired naval officer, viewed our frequent relocating and traveling around the world as an educational opportunity. Traveling and experiencing a different culture first hand brought my siblings and I an education that went beyond what they teach you in a traditional classroom and what is shown on media.
I've lived in 5 countries, but have traveled extensively thanks to the opportunities provided by living overseas. A lot of my personality and life long skillsets developed through experiencing the world. It shaped my lens, as well as who I am today.
Adventuring.
To me traveling and adventuring are two completely different things. You can always travel somewhere, but doing activities that you can do at home is not quite an adventure.
Adventuring to me is getting out of your comfort zone, trying new things or exploring new places. But really, its about gaining the experience and learning, so I can say, “Yes, I did that and I learned that xyz…”, or “Yeah, I went there and experienced xyz…”
I think one of the reasons why I’ve become so adventurous is because my father ingrained into my siblings and I that we’re not really going to experience this anywhere else. I learned that with every place that we lived or visited, I could have easily chosen to stay at home or the hotel, but I wouldn't have gained as much or learned as much about myself or the world.
Being a resource.
Growing up abroad and consistently moving every 2-3 years, I made the most of it by creating a community wherever my family and I went. I met many amazing individuals along the way and have developed genuine connections and long lasting relationships.
I realized earlier on that a lot of my energy generates through my peers. I recognized that I enjoy meeting new people and helping others, whether this is connecting them to the right resources, or simply being their biggest cheerleader by supporting and guiding them to see their potential.
